Today, nearly all industries grapple with diversity, and the construction industries are no exception. Look no further than the gender divide in the roofing industry—as of 2019, 97% of roofers are male. It’s easy to see that roofing can benefit from increased representation. Efforts are being made to improve; for example, according to Randstad, nearly one-third of companies in the construction industry promoted a woman to a senior position in 2018. However, the roofing industry in particular has room to grow.
