The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) recommends routine inspections and maintenance twice annually, usually in the spring and fall.
Although inspections may be performed by any qualified person selected by the building owner, Elevate recommends at least one assessment per year be conducted by the Elevate-licensed applicator that installed your roof. Sound safety precautions should be taken by anyone who accesses the roof.
Major storms are another reason to schedule a roof inspection. Fluctuating temperatures, heavy snow, and ice can cause substantial damage in the winter. In the spring and early summer, you have to worry about hail damaging the flashing and membrane. You should also have your roof checked after a windstorm.
Roofs are often seen as out of sight and out of mind, but it’s essential your roof is regularly inspected by a professional. If you're noticing leaks, standing water, mold and mildew, sagging, or visible damage to your roof, report the issue directly to Elevate right away (if the roof is under warranty).
