RubberGard EPDM provides durable waterproofing to new residential care center near Antwerp
Since 2022, residents of the Welvaart residential care centre in Kapellen, near Antwerp (Belgium), are able to enjoy their old age in a brand new setting. The original care centre was very outdated, so it was demolished and replaced by a brand new building with all modern facilities and comfort, including all current insulation requirements.

The Elevate RubberGard EPDM membrane was chosen to waterproof the new 6,400 square meter roof. PIR roof insulation was chosen because of its excellent insulating properties and perfect compatibility with the EPDM membrane. RubberGard EPDM was fully bonded on top of the insulation, creating a weather-resistant and durable roof sealing system.
Long standing partnership
For the installation of the new roof, general contractor Hooyberghs called in Dakrubbercentrale, an Antwerp-based roofing company with an impressive 27 years of experience installing Elevate EPDM membranes. Over the years, the roofers at Dakrubbercentrale have developed into true experts in waterproofing flat roofs with EPDM. Their long experience and in-depth product knowledge ensured a fast installation and impeccable finish.
