Originally established in 1929, HealthSource Saginaw, Inc. recently added more than 160,000 square feet of new patient, resident and client care facilities, while renovating nearly 50,000 square feet of the existing building structure. The hospital features 210,000 total square feet of metal panel roofing and a ballast roofing system with a Elevate RubberGard non-reinforced EPDM membrane over ISO 95+ GL polyiso Insulation.
A variety of Elevate metal roofing system panels were also used to satisfy the architects vision while providing a durable finish. 24-gauge, 17.75-inch UNA-CLAD UC-4 was installed along the wings of the hospital. The end walls of each of the wings featured 24-gauge, 13.5-inch UNA-CLAD UC-2 snap-on batten seam roofing panels and the cones were 24-gauge UNA-CLAD UC-7 Tapered snap-on standing seam roofing panels. Finally, contractor formed radius panels were used along the main hall.
The building was a multi-phase roof installation project, and the clip-less design of the panels greatly increased the efficiency of the installation. A custom hairpin hip cap was used on the cone-shaped or small half hexagon roof at the end of each hospital wing to provide a clean transition line from one roof plane to the next. All of the UNA-CLAD roof panels are steel finished with standard Champagne Metallic PVDF paint finish. Due to the projects large size, the massive panel quantity required at least three to four paint batches, requiring careful coordination. The roof is protected by a Elevate Red Shield 15-year Warranty.
