Irrigation pond lined with GeoGard EPDM ensures a good crop for Namibian table grapes farm
Silverlands Vineyards is an integrated producer of table grapes exported around the world. The farm is located in the Aussenkehr area of Namibia which, in SilverStreet’s view, represents one of the best areas in the world to grow table grapes.

The GeoGard EPDM membrane had to be installed in a short time frame. After 10 years of service, the existing liner (bituminous impregnated geotextile) was leaking and needed to be replaced as they desperately needed the water for the grape harvesting.
Silverlands Vineyards decided to use GeoGard™ EPDM because they had already successfully installed a 7 km canal in Tanzania in 2016. They were convinced by the quality of the liner and its installation simplicity (no need for sophisticated tools, no power or flame). Their own labour force was trained by Elevate experts and the entire pond was installed in 10 days. Their team is now able to run maintenance operations and eventual repairs by themselves.
