Elevate’s GeoGard EPDM geomembrane has been used to waterproof the artificial snow reservoir at the Kotelnica Ski Station in Poland. In total, 30,000 m² of GeoGard 1.5 mm thick membrane were used to line the reservoir that feeds the snow cannons.

Location | Białka Tatrzańska, Poland |
Application | Artificial snow reservoirs |
Surface | 25,000 m² |
Membrane | GeoGard EPDM 1,5 mm |
The investor was already familiar with GeoGard EPDM, so they knew they could rely on it. The membrane’s flexibility at cold temperatures and outstanding ability to adapt to the shape of the surface were among the key requirements for this project.
The fact that GeoGard EPDM needs less seams than other types of membrane and that it allows the possibility to modify the shape of the reservoir in the future (old-new membrane connection) were also very important determining factors.
The Kotelnica Ski Station is a popular ski resort in the south of Poland, close to the border with Slovakia.
